March 14, 2005
LONDON & TEL AVIV, Israel - (PR Newswire) – March 14, 2005 - XFONE Communication Ltd., the majority owned Israel-based subsidiary of XFONE, Inc. (OTCBB:XFNE), today reported that it has signed an agreement with an authorized contractor of the Israeli Airport Authority (“IAA”) giving XFONE Communication the exclusive right to provide international long distance calling services at Ben Gurion Airport’s new passenger terminal, which is the main active terminal for international flights in Israel. In 2004, over 7.5 million international passengers flew in and out of the Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport, Israel’s largest international airport.
As a result of this exclusive agreement, all pay phones located in the new passenger terminal will automatically default to XFONE Communication’s ‘018’ system for all international long distance phone calls. Further, XFONE Communication has been granted the exclusive right to market and sell international long distance calling cards through vending machines, which are situated in high-traffic areas throughout the terminal, thereby offering a wide range of prepaid international long distance calling cards to international travelers.
Rafi Dick, Managing Director of XFONE Communication, noted, “This is an enormous step forward for XFONE Communication and its ‘018’ international long distance calling service. Aside from the revenue opportunity that this agreement represents for us, we believe that the marketing exposure we will receive will be enormous. Being selected to serve the international long distance calling need for the millions of international travelers that pass each year through Israel's largest airport is a strong endorsement of ‘018’ and the numerous benefits our services offer.”
About ‘018’
Offered at a price per minute that is sometimes as much
as 50% less than the most competitive carrier in Israel,
XFONE Communication’s ‘018’ is fast becoming one of the
preferred long distance calling services. XFONE Communication
also permits users to predetermine the cost per minute
by dialing “01800”. Moreover, XFONE Communication has
established a state-of-the-art web site, found at www.018.co.il,
where users may also access “real time” detailed information
relative to pricing, full service offerings, and general
information regarding system use. There are only six companies
who have been granted international long distance carrier
licenses in the State of Israel.
